No idea offhand how much a new engine would cost, but you can call a Kawasaki dealer and get a price from them. If I had to guess, I'd say around $2500 retail. You wore out a Kawasaki engine in less that 4 years, max? Why does it need to be rebuilt? What went wrong? Who says it needs to be rebuilt? And rebuilding consists of what? Too many people have an engine that has a simple problem, but automatically think it needs a complete rebuild. Neither - get a used engine on ebay. Auto parts : Cylinder Head Bolt Washer Acura 1995 . Buick . Where Do I Add Transmission Fluid in a '95 Mercury Sable?Adding transmission fluid to a 1995 Mercury Sable is a simple task. The fluid is added to the transmission via the transaxle fluid dipstick tube. Dipstick Location A 1995 Sable's transaxle fluid dipstick tube is between the engine block and the firewall, just to the left of the brake fluid reservoir. If you have difficulty locating it, find the air filter on the right of the engine compartment, and trace the connection to the engine block. You will see the dipstick tube, which has a yellow handle, between this air connector and the firewall just before you see the engine block. Fluid Level In order for you to obtain a proper reading of the transmission fluid level, the engine must be on and running at operating temperature, which is normally reached after driving 20 miles. Park on a level surface, place the transmission in the park position and set the brake. The reading on the transmission fluid dipstick should be within the crosshatched area. If it falls below that area, add transmission fluid. Fluid Addition Use a funnel to add transmission fluid through the dipstick tube in ½-pint increments. To ensure good performance, Ford recommends using Mercon automatic transmission fluid in a 1995 Mercury Sable. ResourcesFamily Car Parts: A Short Course on Automatic Transmissions; Charles Ofria
Buick . How to Troubleshoot a 2002 Dodge Neon TransmissionIf the transmission starts to slip on your 2002 Dodge Neon, you might be thinking about empty pockets. More times than not, you might just need to add some transmission fluid to fix the issue. Before you take your Neon into the transmission shop, you might want to do some troubleshooting of your own. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Keys Rag Drive-up ramps Tire block Flashlight Step by Step : 1 Look under the car where the car is parked all night to see if you have a spot on the ground. If you have a leak, put your finger in it to see if it is red. If the leak is red in color, then you have a transmission fluid leak. A transmission fluid leak will cause your transmission to fail. You will find some tips on locating the leak in a step below. 2 Get the transmission warmed up by driving your Neon around the block a few times. Park the car and set the emergency brake. Let the engine continue to run. Open the hood on your Neon. 3 Find the transmission dipstick. It is located on the side of the engine near the font. The transmission dipstick will be labeled "transmission." Pull out the dipstick and wipe it off with the rag. Reinsert the dipstick and pull it out again. Check the level of the fluid. The fluid is full at the "full hot" line indicated on the dipstick. If your transmission is low on fluid it will not function properly. 4 Look at the color of the transmission fluid on the dipstick. If the fluid is not red, then you need to change the transmission fluid. 5 Position the drive-up ramps in front of the front tires and drive the car up. Turn the engine off. Set the emergency brake and set the tire block behind one of the rear tires. 6 Let the engine cool down completely before proceeding to the next step. 7 Slide under the front of the car and locate the transmission. It is attached to the side of the engine. You can identify the transmission because the dipstick tube is attached to it. 8 Shine your flashlight all around the transmission and look for any leaks from the transmission pan or housing. Look for any loose or broken electrical connections, which can cause your transmission to malfunction. *If you're really feeling good about the oil change and you've got the car jacked up anyway, you may want to consider doing a lube job now. See Chapter 16 for details. Recycle your old oil Never dump oil onto the ground, throw it out with your regular garbage, or flush it down a drain. It's a major toxic pollutant that needs to be treated accordingly. So what do you do with your old oil? Use the funnel to pour it into one or more clean disposable containers with tight-fitting (preferably screw-on) lids — the bottles the new oil came in or old, washed soda bottles work well. 761

If you don't have one close by, look in your phone book for the nearest oil recycling center or toxic waste disposal center. You can also bring the old oil filter along. Be sure not to contaminate the oil by mixing it with another substance or putting it into a dirty container, or recycling centers may not accept it. Ford E150 Super Duty Passenger. * #ust as the inside of your engine needs lubrication (via oil, as explained in J Chapter 15), other parts of your vehicle need lubrication as well. A lube ^jo b involves applying lubricants (various kinds of grease and oil) to some of the moving parts under your vehicle and to some of the rubber parts to keep them supple. Your transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and brake fluid are lubricants, too. (See the monthly under-the-hood check in Chapter 3 about checking these fluids if you haven't already done so.) The parts of your vehicle that need periodic lubrication can include the steering linkage, transmission shift linkage, clutch linkage, parking brake cables, differential, and driveshaft universal joint fittings. Because some of these are hard to find and hard to reach, most require a special kind of lubricant. Because you can get into trouble if you don't deal with them properly, I suggest that, once or twice a year, you take your vehicle to the dealership or to a good independent repair facility. Have them lubricate everything that needs it — including the distributor, if your vehicle has one. The rest of the time, just lubricate the things that I point out in this chapter, and you'll be way ahead of the game. What do you lubricate when you do a lube job? What tools do you need? And how to you do it? This chapter answers all these questions. !? A ft Part III: Keeping Your Car in Good Condition, System by System Buick . They must be kept packed with grease to keep the components they protect moving freely without friction. Naturally, these are usually the parts that move the most, except for those inside your engine (which are lubricated with oil). Think about your vehicle and take a look at Figure 16-1. Where does most of the movement take place when you drive (not counting any kids in the backseat)? Well, the front wheels turn on wheel bearings, and they can change direction when you steer because of the steering linkage between the steering wheel and the front wheels. Your vehicle moves up and down on its suspension system and shock absorbers, which keep it level, even when the wheels are bobbing up and down on rough stretches of road.
